David Ginn playing Fluglehorn
Hello! My name is David Ginn and as a founding member and business manager of the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet, I am happy to highlight the many past activities and potential future growth of the Quintet through this website.

I received my Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance with a specialty in music synthesis from Western Carolina University. Later, I earned a Master of Music in trumpet performance from College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. I thank my trumpet professors, Vincent DiMartino, Brad Ulrich, and Alan Siebert for their dedication and generosity in helping me achieve my higher education degrees.

I've been a member of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, and served as trumpet instructor for Mars Hill College and Western Carolina University.

Other than music, my favorite pastime is fly fishing. Here's a nice rainbow trout on the Ocunaluftee River in Cherokee, NC.

Rehearsing, traveling, and performing with the members of the Quintet provide joyful musical experiences as well as treasured friendships. I am grateful to Brad, Travis, Dan, and Mike for the contributions they have made to my life.
