Excitement! Dancing Feet! Collaboration! Descriptions of “Shall We Dance,” a joint recital of the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet and the Dance Studio at Western Carolina University. Fans will recognize many of their favorite SMBQ numbers such as “Take the A Train,” “America” from West Side Story, “New York, New York,” and will be amazed at how Karyn Tomczak and her students have enhanced the music with dance moves sure to have everyone wishing they could join in.
Several dance styles will be demonstrated including the waltz, ballet, swing and the tango. The final piece will feature a Rockette inspired dance to New York, New York.
Karyn Tomczak, Program Director of Dance says, "The WCU Dance Department is very excited to be collaborating with the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet ... and best of all, excited to have the chance to dance to live music!
